Silke Schmidt Born in 1973 in Westerwald. After studying literature at Mainz and Edinburgh, Scotland, she studied fine arts and English for the Office of the school teacher at the University of the Arts (class Prof. Hacker) and Humboldt University. In 2000, she was admitted to the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes and in 2004 she received the Saar Ferngas Young Art Award. In 2005 she was appointed as a master student of the University of the Arts. This year she won the audience award at the exhibition of the Emy-Roeder-price at the Kunstverein Ludwigshafen. Silke Schmidt has two daughters and lives in Berlin.
